Why Terrorism is unabated?

Dear all,

Greetings! (?)

The alarm has been snoozed once again...

We don't know when it is going to awake us again, so that one more time it can be snoozed!

Yeah, am speaking about what geared up the media to surround the final perimeter of 2 star hotels and a Jew prayer hall after the last line of defence troops, a few weeks back, and give minute by minute updates of all that could be transmitted.

I'm a commoner; I’d love to be the same! But I hope, I do have certain privileges of asking a few questions of being a commoner as such! My questions are primary; they are as below:

1. I've heard of a terror attack in India as early as 1992 - a former PM was killed. The next would be the Mumbai 1993. Further and on, we have been having similar attacks for each full moon or new moon day. A month without terror attacks is even precious than a blue moon!

  • Whereas, we did hear an attack on USA - the so well remembered 9/11 - well, that could be their first! But still, I've not heard/seen any later to that.
  • We did hear an attack on UK - July 7th (year, i don't remember) - and this is their first and last too... (I do agree, there was a blast in Madrid too, apart from London).

Now the question: Shouldn’t we be as careful as these nations are in saving the lives of their people?

2. Will you ever forgive a person who has committed such crimes as genocide, just for the reason he/she belongs to your religion/community? I’d obviously not; forgiving him is like slow-poisoning ourselves... Yeah, it's the same thought the people belonging to the community which these terrorists belong to (and call as saviours of), have... Still, we find a great soul Mr. Afzal alive and awaiting execution, and one more has been added to the pipeline - Mr. Qasab (media provides different spellings for this great soul's name...). I swear, the rulers of the state are afraid of executing a Supreme Court judgment - fearing votebank politics. Why/Who encourages such politics in this soil?

3. Do you like your bosses? Do you like your peers? Do you like your sub-ordinates?

If your answers are NO (by chance), still, would you like them shedding their lives? I’d definitely say NO to this question also... At any point in time, lives are precious right?? Still, the heroes below travelled in a van/bus to a spot together with their bosses/peers/sub-ordinates; but not all, had the opportunity to get the company of the same boss/peer/sub-ordinate accompany them back from duty - because, they were dead on accomplishment of a mission - saving unarmed you and me! For whose carelessness these lives were sacrificed? Saying that 'it is what they're paid for' will show the world's most uncultured specie in the one saying so. Why that, when we want to go office in the morning, have lunch in the noon, return home once the work completes, that these people alone have to find bullets in the way of their standard operating procedure?

 4. You may remember a day in 2006, when the Heathrow was closed due to intelligence of terror strikes. None where allowed to board the air-plane if they were carrying substances which every normal human being carries - shave gels, after  shaves, beauty creams, etc., - call them cosmetics! How did they get such awareness, when we didn't, even after decades of bomb blast sagas? Are we USED TO it? Don't we have a limit for things with which we can get USED TO? I feel, we don’t have a single eligibility to call them paranoiac; rather that’s far better than our incautiousness.

5. Are we having any enmity with USA? Still, why do politicians feel it an insult to ask for help from them? That too, even when they are ready to help us with, in aspects of countering terrorism. Israel too, is in this list; again, votebanks: these politicians are much worse than those who practice anti-semitism… Be it of a person of any kind, when he/she faces similar trouble and has tackled it well, then we shouldn’t find it hard to co-ordinate with them and get their techniques in solving such troubles when it happen to us – likely, Israel has undergone a number of terror strikes, still it does… they do tackle it in a much better way! We must not find any other thing come in between us, when it is counter-terrorism; we must go hand in hand with these countries and get our army men trained.

Somehow, our politicians are warm and happy if a joint defence exercise happens with China – the partner of Pakistan – the supplier of terrorist to our nation, but not with a country which is ready to help counter terrorism. Moreover, we have fought a war with China, but not with USA; in fact, the then US President came in support of India against China.

Still more to go!!! Can’t we dream a land with no blood shed… Isn’t that a small thing that we can provide to our next generation?

  3. You have put in black and white what almost every sane Indian thinks, but reserve expressing their views for future. Well said.
